    Sequential Test

    Sequential Test (Flood Risk)

You may need to carry out a Sequential Test as part of your Flood Risk Assessment. The Sequential Test compares the site you’re proposing to develop with other available sites to find out which has the lowest flood risk.

According to NPPF Guidelines, the proposed developments need a Sequential Test if both of the following apply:

    • The proposal site is in Flood Zone 2 or 3.
    • A Sequential Test hasn’t already been done for a development of the type you plan to carry out on your proposed site.
    • For minor proposals such as householder extensions and change of use, the Sequential Test will not be required.
